My library adventures began many years ago, in both public and school libraries, where I could always find the answers to the questions posed by my curious mind. Summer reading programs made me a regular at the public library, where I eventually got my first job as a page. During my college years, I was no stranger to the library, and was often seen lugging stacks of books back to my dorm room. Such are the joys of majoring in English!

Years later, though, these library skills became invaluable. When I was diagnosed with lupus, it was in the library that I found the answers to my many, many questions about the disease, and it was through the library that I was able to research starting my own business. Now, as I study to become a librarian, I hope that I will gain the skills to help others find the answers to their own questions. The librarians I have known over the years were an inspiration to me, and I hope that someday I can inspire others to become lifelong learners as I have.
